Strawberry Lettuce Smoothie

The strawberry lettuce smoothie is a nutritious, light and tasty meal suitable for breakfast or any meal. I usually have some for breakfast and the rest mid-morning. The strawberries and blueberries can be fresh or frozen. Wash the berries before freezing.

1 large banana
half cucumber
1 avocado
handful green lettuce leaves
3 strawberries
a few blueberries
1 medjool date
pinch sea salt (optional)
1 tbsp oil (olive, Udo's Choice)
250 mls filtered water

Strawberry and Lettuce Smoothie

  1. Place all ingredients, except the water and oil, in a blender.
  2. Add half the water and blend.
  3. While blending, pour in the oil and blend until smooth.
  4. If too thick, add the rest of the water bit by bit until the desired consistency is reached. I prefer to make it thick enough to eat with a spoon.

Variations

Instead of the lettuce, I often use a handful of baby spinach leaves or pak choi. Sometimes I add alfalfa sprouts. You don't have to add both strawberries and blueberries.
