Green superfoods and green drinks have greatly contributed to the many health gains that I am now enjoying.
The use of the term 'superfood', to describe certain fruit and vegetables, has created a lot of controversy so much so that the EU issued a ban on its use unless the health benefit claims are scientifically proven.
This term has been associated with foods such as blueberries, goji berries, pomegranates, spinach, spirulina, avocados, almonds, beets, broccoli, cacao (cocoa), garlic, seeds and nuts, watermelon and wheat grass. It includes foods that have always been readily available and that we have eaten for generations such as apples, tomatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts and beets.
The foods are nutrient-dense and mineral-rich and are sometimes known as living foods. They contain some or all of the following:

Super Green Foods
Super green foods are complete whole foods consisting of:
They contain the full spectrum of naturally occurring nutrients, phytonutrients and antioxidants and they are highly alkalising because of their high vegetable content. They have a neutral taste and can be added to smoothies or fruit juices. Examples of super green foods are Vitamineral Green, Nature's Living Superfood and Pure Synergy.
Green powders do not usually contain such a comprehensive array of foods. They contain a small selection of green vegetables including wheatgrass. Their purpose is to provide an easy way of alkalizing during the day. Simply add the recommended quantity to water and drink 30 minutes before meals or 2 hours after meals. We all have to do what works for our bodies. I have been eating avocados, spirulina, spinach, almonds, blueberries, cacao and mesquite powders as well as a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. I have never been as healthy as I am now. That is ample proof for me.
Many of these foods have been eaten in other parts of the world for centuries. For example, until the 1940s Native Americans never suffered from diabetes because they subsisted on desert foods some of which regulate blood sugar levels.
To get the greatest benefits from living foods you have to be willing to make some changes in your general diet like cutting out fast foods, reducing intake of carbohydrates and animal products and not eating them at the same meal. Superfoods, supergreens and green drinks are truly beneficial to health.
